In what is “a first” in Swimming Pool Floor Design, as the floor is lowered, the steps stop at predetermined locations to form regulated steps for easy access to the pool.

When the floor is raised, the steps are collected to form part of the raised floor in the closed position.

With a Ceramic Tiled area around the pool, the client specified the Teak finished floor, and the results are remarkable.

While they still await Areo updates for the MVR-02 , they were making the most of the Pitstops, using equipment fabricated at RS Fabrications.

With Andor working on design in Banbury, some lightweight equipment has been manufactured by the RS Team and more equipment is currently under construction.

“Time never stands still in F1 and we are already look down the road into the 2012 F1 season”, commented Russell.

“Andor is coming up with some new interesting designs using exotic materials, and weight savings can be made on all the teams equipment. This can only help the Marussia Virgin Crew in the Pitstops, as the MVR-02 chassis is developed out on the Circuit”.

In the Pit Garage, equipment is also manufactured to help the Technicians complete their tasks with efficiency. The demand for specialised equipment is a high priority and this equipment has to be shipped worldwide, so any weight saving is a bonus in freight charges.

We are all looking forward to China, whilst working along side the Marussia Virgin Racing Team.

Terry is also the proud owner of a CanAm V8 Firenza made for the South African Can Am series of 1973. One of only 100 built, + the 3 works cars, Terry has the only original V8 Firenza currently in the UK.

He is now building a Droop Snoot Firenza and he asked RS Fabrications to fabricate a sump for the newly acquired 3.0 V6 lump.

Terry supplied the drawings, and we mean ‘drawings’!! Not CAD files printed or drawn or copies of prints, but black ink technical drawings on transparent paper, old styley.

The original sump flange was retained and mounted to tooling plate, then the sump was fabricated using 6mm NS4 Aluminium, bent and formed to Terry’s drawings.

Russell took on the forming & fabrication of the Al sheet, with Wayne taking on the welding duties.

The only tricky part was the parent metal of the flange not being as pure as the NS4 sheet that was being welded to it and aluminium welding rod suited to Al castings was deployed.

“We are just waiting to see what parts Terry comes up with next”, said Russell

“One thing we do know, they will be Firenza parts, unless Terry has had another bang on the head”!! he continued

We are all looking forward to seeing the finished article, a nice V6 twin manifold and exhaust set-up is surely on the cards!

In this installation the floor is covered with the same Teak Wood as the surrounding patio area and the Fall & Rise Floor can be operated by wall mounted controls or a handheld remote switching device. The owners can either use the patio area as a regular deck, or just drop the deck into the bottom of the Heated Pool.

With Stainless Steel Steps located at one end of the pool, the depth can be altered to suit any conditions i.e. if children just want to paddle, this is possible by just dropping the Moveable Floor down to the required depth, or just lift the floor up to provide a safety cover over the pool that will provide the barrier necessary with small children in the Pool/Patio area. You choose.

Russell, Shane and the Boys at RS Fabrications, can’t wait to work with the Leveable Team on some upcoming UK installations, and hopefully the RS Team can help Guy & Alain with forthcoming projects that are lined up in N. France, S. France, Corsica and the the huge 48 Swimming Pool Floor installations, in the Portugal Villa Development on the Algarve!

“I’ve seen some things that Guy has up his sleeves that are incredible in Swimming Pool Floor Design”, said Russell.

“Some of the floors you would expect Thunderbird 3 to come flying out of, once the floor has dropped into the pool”!

Watch this website as things develop with Leveable in concept, material technology, and design.

“RS Fabrications are now part of this, and this is just the beginning” stated Russell

Well the answer is yes!

To increase performance for the Trackday Special, the catalytic converter was removed and a link pipe was fabricated. This joined the standard 4 cylinder exhaust system, with the 4 into 2 into 1 configuration, to the Carbon Yoshimura Silencer provided by Pete.

Original location of the ‘Can’ was retained and with Russell taking the fabrication on this one, the Stainless Steel Linkpipe was manufactured, Tig welded and mirror polished prior to installation.

“The conversion really opened the bike up and the throttle response has improved”, commented Russell, ” On the road, you get to 10K and thing sounds good, and then you take it to the 16K redline and Wow!! the sound is Phenomenal”!

“Also things are coming at you pretty fast at that point”!!

Pete was over the moon with how the linkpipe has transformed the Gixer, along with the weight saving that it also provided.

Keep your eye out for him in your mirrors on the track this season!!

Having extensively modified the chassis on a Cerbera, Jason needed the primary on No 1 cylinder to be re routed to clear additional tubing and a have a pair of side pipes installed.

Wayne made the primary pipe and modified the collectors, keeping the first 3 cylinders sharing one collector and 4, 5 & 6 sharing the other. Both exit on the left hand side of the chassis, and then Wayno put together a pair of repackable GT3 silencers, mounted one above the other.

Jason called Russell after the vehicle was collected to thank RS for the work and comment on what a great job the end result was.

This Racing TVR, will have a powerful Str8 Six highly tuned motor installed to match the up rated chassis, and the team at the factory will be putting some long hours in to make sure this will a front running Racing Car and Show Piece for Str8 Six.

We look forward to seeing the finished product, and it will probably come bact RS to have additional work done on the cooling system and other fabricated components.

Russell went to an exclusive property in Queens Park to quote on a stainless steel fabricated floor section over a technical room and ended up Project Managing the whole project for the client.

“The Technical Room floor was straight forward” said Russell, “I had Andor do the design work on the structure, we fabricated the parts in house and Shane took a team from the workshop to do on site installation”

“What I didn’t foresee was the role that I would take up as Project Manager!”

In what was a dispute between Architect/Contractor and Builders, Russell put his hand up and said “Fear Not Miranda, I can sort this out for you”

Over the next 6 months, the team from RS Fabrications, working with the Swimming Pool Company, the Movable Floor company and various designers, transformed what was a building site with a swimming pool shell in it, into a luxury town garden.

Pengiun Swimming Pools, of Banbury, built the swimming pool and Russell & Shane then met the Leveable Team from France.

“I met Guy and Alain from Leveable, with their fantastic moveable swimming pool floor concept, and we helped with fabrication on the project. This was the first installation of its type in the UK and over this initial project we formed a strong bond, to the extent of becoming the UK distributer of the Leveable Rise & Fall Swimming Pool Floor System” said Russell

As work continued, the team juggled between workshop duties at RS Fabrications and on site work in North London to complete what you see here.

The finished garden is stunning, and the attention to detail is second to none!

“Now that we are the UK representative for Leveable Moveable Floors, we are really looking forward to working with Guy & Alain on this Anglo/French commitment. As a Fabrications Company, we can also bring design ideas and manufacturing techniques to the table, as well as completing all of the UK installations for Leveable.”

Strapping an F1 car to you back is only experienced by a few, but what more expensive piece of kit could a man have?

This is a Presentation Box for a 7 speed F1 Gearbox, housing internal gear sets, selector forks, hubs and everything that would have to be presented to scrutiners at and Formula 1 Grand Prix.

Designed & fabricated at RS Fabrications, this selection box was made for Marussi Virgin F1, along with numerous items of support equipment, which are now on they’re way to Australia for the opening round of the 2011 FIA Formula One Season.

“We’ve been working flat out, day & night to get equipment finished and shipped to the 1st race” said Russell, “the last part of the equipment, currently being manufactured out of Titanium, will be ready tomorrow [21/3/11] and will fly out for use in next weeks Australian GP”.

We are pretty sure that it will be picked up by one of the VW mags for a feature in the upcoming months, so look out for Jamie’s Golf around the 2011 VW Scene this season, and remember:-

Having just received a full engine re-build and uprated turbo, Mike wanted to finish the job with an RS Fabrications Silencer and Twin Tailpipes Performance Exhaust System.

The aftermarket Turbo Downpipe, supplied by Mike, had to be modified to fit the new turbo and then everything from the turbo back was fabricated by Shane at the Banbury facility.

Mike wanted a twin duel matching tailpipe set-up ,with the wastegate exhaust exiting on the left and the Engine/Turbo Exhaust Gases exiting from the right.

“The test drive was interesting to Abthorpe” said Russell “and I even got to take Mrs V out to experience 70′s/80′s Turbo Power! Pity I could’nt find the heater levers, she may have warmed to Porsche a bit more”!!

“Along with his classic cars, Mike has a BSA Rickman Matisse” commented Russell “It is a fantastic Classic Motorcycle, made popular by Steve McQueen, and Mike’s example is in A1 condition. I’m sure we can find a reason to get it down to the workshop this summer”!!
