Healey built a “one off” chassis to compete at Le Mans in the late 1950′s. No record or history is available for the vehicle, but regular Healey enthusiast John, has rebuilt the racing car from pictures that he has attained.
Monocoque construction and using a rover V8 engine, John has painstakingly re-built the Lost Healey.
Originally it was installed with a Coventy Climax Motor, but due to practicality John has used the Rover V8. He then came to RS for an full exhaust system.
Originally meeting with Russell & Shane at the Race Retro Show, a full 4 into 1 construction was finalised and with twin 3″ silencer boxes, mounted over the gearbox, the full stainless system was manufacture.
Racing 4 into 1 merged collectors we fabricated, then the whole system was gas purged and fully Tig Welded. The tuned length system fitted well within the refines of the hand-built chassis, and the sound was phenomenal.
John is a reqular down at Le mans, with is British Racing Green Healey.
